GENERAL SURFACE CARE TIPS
Routine care and maintenance will keep your Quartz Effects™ countertops from Basix International looking new and as great as the day they were installed.
ROUTINE CARE
Cleaning with readily available household or countertop cleaners will remove every-day dirt and stains. Stubborn food stains can usually be removed by leaving the cleaner on the top for a few minutes then wiping with a paper towel, sponge or cloth. Rinse the area with water to remove any residue. For gum or other sticky substances, products such as Goo Gone® can be effective. Other products that may be helpful for maintaining your top are non-abrasive cleaners, white (non-abrasive) ScotchBrite® pads and over-the-counter countertop cleaner/polishes. Always follow the manufacturers’ recommendations.
DO NOT USE HARSH CHEMICALS OR ABRASIVES
The surface can be damaged by harsh substances, including chemicals such as paint thinner, oven cleaners, drain cleaners and toilet bowl cleaners. Never use abrasive pads or cleaners, steel wool or other abrasive materials on Quartz Effects™.
PREVENT HEAT DAMAGE
As with all countertop materials, it is important to minimize direct heat exposure. High temperatures and abrupt changes in temperature can damage the surface. To prevent damage, always use hot pads or trivets under crock pots, frying pans, pots and heat-generating appliances. Quartz Effects™ counters are heat resistant, but not heat proof.
AVOID MINOR SCRATCHES
As with all countertop materials, you should not cut directly on your Quartz Effects™ countertop. Always use an appropriate cutting board when cutting on your countertop. Quartz Effects™ counters are scratch resistant, but not scratch proof. Protect your investment by keeping abrasive materials off your countertops.
